Our core business revolves around Content Management Systems.

Our core business revolves around Content Management Systems.

A Content Management System is mostly a web-application designed to easily manage the content of a website. These CM Systems mainly use a database (MySQL is a very popular engine) to store the content of your website, whereas some store the content on the webserver in for exampe XML format.

Some of the features that these Content Management Systems provide are:

  • Change content of a webpage through Word-like editors
  • Upload & share images, music or general files on your website
  • Manage (contact) form entries
  • Create private sections, only accessible with a username and password
  • Collaborate on documents and files with other users
  • ...

The functions provided by a Content Management System can often be extended through the use of modules or plugins (depending on the system), which allows for more specific actions.

An example:

The implementation of a voting-system  - or - a private section where users can order and pay for services.

This is where we come into the picture. HaLe Communications is specialised in the development and modification of (open-source) Content Management Systems in function of our clients.

The technology used to create a CMS can be separated into 3 big categories:

  1. PHP + MySQL (Opensource technology)
  2. ASP.net + MS-SQL (Microsoft technology)
  3. CMS using other technologies like Ruby, Java, ...

Where CMS created in PHP often support a wide range of free components, ASP.net systems mainly focus on extension with the Microsoft .Net Framework and commercial components.

HaLe Communications can also provide development of custom ASP.net solutions for commercial / enterprise level Content Management Systems like Sharepoint, Tridion, Umbraco and many more.
